Islamabad: Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (Pemera) has imposed a 45-day ban on ARY News Program 'Live with Dr. Shahid Masood'.

Under the law, Dr. Shahid Masood and his channel have the right to appeal before the High Court or Supreme Court within five days.
ARY News has posted a statement from his lawyer Advocate Moinuddin on his website. In this, the lawyer noted that Pemera's decision was taken hastily and "some wages may be intended."

Moinuddin also argued that Pemra did not consider the adjourned petition. "We went to Islamabad to demand our case, but that opportunity was not provided to us."

The lawyer also expressed the surprise that the PEMA order was not signed by any authority, but it was supported by the Council of Complaints.
