Pemera (Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority) recently issued an order to leave Pakistani television dramas for the poor quality, the bravery of subjects and plots, and the misrepresentation of Pakistani culture and society. What do you think about the order?
I think the order was inappropriate and unnecessary. It bothered me. The Pakistani television industry has produced, and the series of production, serial and very high quality continues. It is very spectacular, especially considering the size of our country, and prepares programs which are entertaining, educational and informative. I think the industry has been dismissed in such a way that Pemara was unfair and irresponsible.
Do you believe that it is the place of Pemara to set standards of civilization for television channels?
no at all. The Pakistani people are intelligent, educated and intelligent. They can decide what they are - and for whom they are responsible - should see and see. If they find a program boring, aggressive or inappropriate, they can always turn off the television or switch to the channel. There is no need for a government body to make an election for them. Pakistani viewers can use their right to freedom with click of the remote control button.
You are not related to the show business professionals family. Have you drew in the field of acting?
I grew up watching international art cinema and was enthralled by its diversity, depth and wisdom. Satigat Ray, Mrinal Sen, François Truffaut, Engmar Bergman and Rainer Werner Phosbinder were personal favorites. I loved his films and wanted to be in my rich, complex and very interesting characters. Desire grew in this period for an indefinitely, which continues to this day.
Historically, the show is a stigma attached to it in the business world. Many Pakistanis do not consider it honorable. How did you get the world?
I am aware of negative thoughts that many people are the world of show business and, although I respect my right to an opinion, I find it wrong. I've been in the industry for some years and I consider it honorable, professional and straightforward. I like to be a part of it.
What barriers and challenges did you face while entering the show business world?
I needed to persuade myself to take care of my people, that acting was a good career option for me. That was the only obstacle I had encountered. Fortunately, I ended it without any difficulty. My friends and family members supported my decision with whole heartedness and enthusiasm. Challenges involved in learning crafts, finding the right projects and focusing. I was lucky and, at the start of my career, some really had to work with wonderful writers, directors and actors. They helped me deal with the challenges. It can not be completely easy, but so far I have had a very good ride in the show business and I am so grateful for my success in the field.
You are the scion of a well-surrounded family, with great money, influence and quarrels. Are your family's status and standing helpful in your career?
Not so. My family members helped me but not in the way you indicated them. They were helpful, they believed in me and they encouraged me to pursue my dream. This is the help that I need and found. The only other factor contributing to my success in the show business is hard work, determination, and perhaps good fortune.
Unlike many Pakistani artists, you studied acting in the prestigious National Academy of Performing Arts (NAPA). Formal training in acting has helped you in your career?
Yes, it is in more than one way. It gave me confidence, nutrition and self-assurance. It has helped me to achieve historiographic skills systematically and effectively. It has presented me with several major acting systems, which provides me a great set of techniques, methods and procedures to choose and employ as an actor. Perhaps, the most important skill I acquired in NAPA was the ability to work as a team member. Television plays and movies require teamwork; All the members of the cast and crew must know, again
You have a reputation of being very serious about not acting much about acting crafts and stardom. Is a good actor more important to you than being a superstar?
I have great attraction for acting art and crafts. It attracts me. I like this. I want to become a capable actor. Starod means nothing to me.
How has life changed for you since being famous as an actor?
It really has not changed much. I am still the same person - shy, intro and undisputed - which I used to do. I still have the same set of close friends that I was before becoming an actor. I am still enjoying the same things - reading time with friends, family, traveling and spending time - I have enjoyed my whole life. I hope that it stays like this. The way I like my life today
You have worked in many television serials, one feature films and many stage plays. Do you have a priority between television, cinema and theater?
Yes i do Theater is my favorite. I like the fact that in real time the response is received from the audience. I enjoy the stage energy, power and excitement. I love independence on the stage of an actor. Nobody - no director, no writer, no photographer, no one else - when he is performing on stage, can help the actor. He is on his own. The responsibility is encouraging and enthusiastic. In my opinion, there is no better place for an actor compared to the theater stage.
It seems that you have a good play to choose the best projects on television; Not every of your serials - Sayya-e-Divar, Dum Dum, Snake Serie, R asm e Duniya, O Rangreja, and now, Baala - is a hit. What criteria do you use to select television plays?
I like working with people who are positive, talented and kind. This is what I think about making a decision about signing up for acting. I trust my instincts and usually go with projects that have a positive eye.
What criteria did you use to choose your first feature film, Thoraji le?
When I was new to the business, Thoraji was introduced to me. It was a great opportunity for a newcomer and as soon as the film was presented to me, I jumped on it.
Thoraji did not perform professionally and critically well. How did you solve the film's failure?
I planted a lot of time, energy and love in Thoraji Lee and was sad to see that it failed at the box office. Critical review - Somewhat unattractive - disappointed me but I did not allow myself to be depressed and stay longer. I have a big help system for friends and family, I am a person of trust, and I am naturally optimistic. I was able to dust the failure and could pick myself up very quickly.
Are you planning to do more movies in the future?
Yes i do Thoraji did not perform well, but I am not sorry to film. It was a great project for me at that time. I have great memories of working in the film. I'm glad I did this.
What do you think about Pakistani cinema?
I believe that there is a great promise in Pakistani cinema. It is in the midst of a great revival and at this time there is very positive energy in the industry. We are starting to see good Pakistani films. I think the industry is developing and will become one of the chiefs in the world in a few years.
Along with Ahmed Raza Mir, you changed the status of the industry to the board of top young Pakistani artists, which pushed many well-established superstars into the category of senior actors. Has any of them ever displayed animosity and dissatisfaction towards you?
You are very kind and give me more credit than being worth. I do not believe that I have pushed someone out of my true place in the industry. To answer your question, an actor has never displayed animosity and dissatisfaction with me. They are all singular gracious and compassionate.
Have you found any friends in the competitive world of show business?
I have not, but not because there are no good people in the show business world. There are lots of them but I have all those friends who I want in my life already. I do not feel the need to make more
Are you important to friendship?
Yes, only the second for the family. Friendship is indeed a blessing. Life without support, love and cooperation of friends will be unbearable.
What role does your family play in your family?
My family is the most important thing in my family. It is my source of strength, inspiration and enthusiasm. It provides me emotional, psychological and spiritual support. I do not take anything more than spending time with my family. The bond that I share with my family is not one of the blood, but there is no pleasure in love, respect, understanding and happiness in each other's life.
